How to transfer a domain from Name.com
Before submitting a transfer request with us please obtain EPP code (if applicable) from Name.com and make sure that the domain is unlocked.
How to unlock your domain with Name.com:
- Login to your Name.com account
- Click on the domain name you would like to unlock
- Click the padlock icon on the Domain Management page
- When the lock is open the domain is unlocked
How to obtain EPP code from Name.com:
- Login to your Name.com account
- Click on the domain name you would like to get EPP for
- Auth Code will be displayed on the Domain Management page at the bottom of the grid
In most cases you would also need to disable privacy protection service for the domain.
How to disable private registrationwith Name.com:
- Login to your Name.com account
- Click the domain name you need to disable private registration for
- Click Private Whois in the Control Panel section on the right
- Click Disable Private Whois
Once the domain name is unlocked and you have your EPP code you can initiate a transfer to Namecheap. Please refer to this article for more information on how to transfer a domain to us.
